Dr
Olle Asplund received his degree in medicine from Karolinska
Hospital and Institute of Stockholm in 1971 where upon he received
his surgical training.
In 1978, Dr Asplund started his career as a specialist plastic
and reconstructive surgeon.
In 1984, he defended his thesis "Breast Reconstruction
after Cancer Surgery" and became a Doctor of Medical Science.
Having moved to London he became particularly interested in
breast surgery and has, based on his vast experience, developed
the so-called "Asplund Vertical Minimal Scar Breast Reduction
Technique" which he has now been practising for a period
of thirteen years.
Dr Asplund has published numerous articles and has presented
about breast surgery in 13 different countries. On a regular
basis he is teaching young surgeons.
In 2000, Dr Asplund was invited by the "British Association
of Aesthetic Surgeons" at their annual meeting to perform
an operation live in front of big audiences of Consultants.
He is a GMC (General Medical Council) Specialist in Plastic
Surgery as well as Consultant at Charing Cross Hospital, London.
Privately he is operating at Charing Cross and Wellington Hospitals.
