Over the years Dr. Olle Asplund has many times been asked by other cosmetic surgeons to correct their complications after a performed breast reduction. Learning from this experience he would like to give you some advice before you decide to have a breast reduction.

There are reasons why a surgeon might turn your request about a breast reduction down. Do accept this and don’t push further, you risk paying a high price involving complications.

Furthermore before you decide to do any breast reduction with a specific surgeon ask him about how many breast reductions he has done, what scars you will have and what complication rate he has. Ask also if he is member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons and the British Association of Plastic Surgeons. Finally he should be able to show you his own results

Usually a correction after a failed breast reduction involves several operations and the best result is often not as good as a first time successful breast reduction.

You are responsible for choosing the right surgeon when asking for cosmetic surgery such as breast reduction, breast augmentation, breast uplift or a breast asymmetry operation. Therefore don’t hesitate to get a second opinion with another surgeon, if you want to.
